Château de Chelivette is one of the oldest wine properties in Gironde. It dominates the vineyard on the hillside and is superbly exposed. Located in the communes of Ste Eulalie and St Loubes, it produces Bordeaux Supérieur, Côte de Bordeaux, Bordeaux Rosé and Bordeaux Clairet.
The estate of approximately 70 acres is made up of meadows, shrubs, hedges, century-old trees allowing natural protection of the Vine, by welcoming small fauna which helps to combat the parasites of the Vineyard. It is nature itself in its diversity which best protects the Vine.
The beauty and tranquility of the site, its ideal geographical location 15 minutes from Bordeaux and St Emilion, its historical and heritage interest and the quality of its terroir, constitute a solid base for the development of a complete wine tourism activity.
Visitors may discover the architectural and natural attractivity of the domain. We have created a visit called « a Vineyard through History » allowing, while walking in the vineyard, to stop by a Chapel built in 1620, a dovecote from the XVIII and a Chappe Telegraph from 1791. During the visitor experience we also talk about Biodynamy. We explain how vines are maintained and wine are produced as naturally as possible and respecting the fruit but also the importance of lunar influence, the dynamisation of water the herbal teas spreaded over the vineyard.
